For Europe, money is the easy part. The difficult part is committing to fight alongside Ukrainians if they are ever attacked again. That is what we will have to be ready to do, like it or not.

European armies should fight alongside Ukrainians now. #Russia must be defeated and completely expelled from all Ujrainian territory. Otherwise #Putin will have learned that it pays to fight imperial wars, because you end up with more territory than you started with, and will start them again.
The most effective method of taming Russian expansionism is through solidarity- there is the option to announce the process of NATO membership for Ukraine and a marked increase in Ukrainian military support.
Copy Trumpian rhetoric - use media as a weapon. The funding doesn’t have to be real.
Russia and the US are both playing the new propaganda game and Europe is still following the old rules - an honest broker.
Level the playing field. For once play as a team and shout and impress us. You’re 150% the population of US and your GDP is the same. Scare tactics are necessary.
European NATO honoured their commitment when the US invoked NATO article 5 following the 9/11 attacks. If Ukraine joins NATO or an equivalent alliance, I have no doubt Europe will honour it's commitments to Ukraine in exactly the same way as it did for the US.
Let's be honest: westward of Poland, there's nothing and nobody who would stop fascist ruZZia!
Some countries would have to fill out forms first, some realize they forgot to order ammunition, and some won't start to fight as long as all other countries do.
We could start with a devastating air campaign on russian positions along the entire frontline. Enough pussyfooting, let's get the rotten edifice to collapse.
We should actively help Ukraine win this.
Attack all strategic targets 🇷🇺 uses to maintain its war in 🇺🇦 =blitzkrieg
manufacturing
rail transportation
ship harbors & boats
airports
military training & logistics
gas refineries
gas stations w/in 50 miles of 🇷🇺 border
bridges
No one to fight, no transport, no gas, nothing to sell
Under Trump NATO is dead. To defend ourselves we need a European Treaty Organisation with a single leader that mirrors NATO mandate but without America otherwise individual nations will be unable to mobilise military support quickly and effectively.
The problem with European Democracies is we bury our heads in the sand. We can see whats coming, know what needs to be done so bury our heads again hoping that despite all the evidence we were wrong.
Lmao “we”… I’m not dying for Ukraine thanks. This whole thing started because NATO thought it would be smart and provoke Russia by dropping itself right at their border.
I think money is the hard part in a way. Europe in the 2000s has become what USA was between world wars, an isolationist inward looking collection of disunited states. Everything is about saving money at every expense, shirking responsibilities on the international stage.
The agreement from 2023 has been to use the earnings of invested impounded Russian assets to fund protection and reconstruction of Ukraine. At the present time this income with current European states funding will more than cover the loss of US funding.
No it's not. EU casually just announced 100 Billion investment into AI. Like where does that money come from? EU doesn't need to invest into AI, just make it feasible for the economy to invest, so we can use money to secure Europe.
If you read what it actually consists of, EU is investing far less and mostly from already allocated funds, bulk of the money will come from private investment. This is not how funding defense and security works unless we want to create our own wagner groups..
But I still don't think money would be the issue. EU throws hundreds of billions at almost everything. Just see how much EU spends for agriculture alone.
The real issue would be, having soldiers in actual combat with causalities you have to explain at home.
In a way yes, that's true there is a lot of money. However by the time EU would have come to a decision to reuse something like farming subsidies for defense we would all have to learn to speak russian. Relaxing budget deficit rules and going down the national route is the way to go right now.
but that is what Keir Starmer is comitting to, right? Maybe Poland, the Baltics and (hopefully many) others will contribute to this with some of their own troops
EU lost the information war without even trying, Russian trolls control the internet, russian money controls the politicians and smooth-brained journalists in the EU. There will be no guarantees for Ukraine in the future nor for the EU itself.
A better option would be to send European troops NOW to ensure/guard/patrol/defend Ukraines current EU borders and Belorussian, Transnistrian borders so Ukraine can focus on the front lines. THAT would be the right thing to do.
NO!!!!!!!. This is the worst possible outcome.
Europe needs to help Ukraine beat russia. NOW.
If not, they will just rearm and attack. Europe will be lost.
"peace deal" and "peacekeeping" is a russian wet dream.
See Budapest Memo, Minsk 1-2-3-4-5..... WAKE UP!
We committed to fighting alongside the US after the 9/11 attacks. I guess that means fuck all now? We were there when the US needed us, but now Bronzed Hitler is in charge, US wants to buddy up with Putin and Little Rocket Man.
I don't think money is easy part for Europe.
Were this true Europe had blocked any trade with Russia long ago.
But European countries openly buy Russians goods via intermediaries while Hungary and Slovakia terrorize and blackmail Ukraine demanding gas transit.
Europeans value prosperity and comfort.
All those "we will send peace keeping troops" from France, UK and all the others are dishonest. They are only willing to send troops when there are no hostilities to expect.
Those guaranties are worthless and if I were Ukraine, I would give zero trust on those. It's sad, but that is how it is.
NATO has troops stationed all along the eastern flank, you could argue they are peace keepers. They act as a deterrent and it keeps the peace. Any European "peace keepers" sent to Ukraine (or Ukraine joins NATO) will require troops to be stationed in Ukraine for as long as Russia presents a threat.
Sir , you are absolutely right and everyone over there needs to listen to you and act !!Europe is powerful like many countries America has made us all feel small and helpless ! Europe is where the Renaissance took place and united you are unstoppable!!
All of this makes me want an alternative to NATO, but not only EU. Do not include usual dissidents (Hungary, Slovakia) who will block funds, and extend to others "compatible" like UK, Canada, Australia, etc..
Another point is : we have to change how alliances work. Unanimity leads to slow decisions.
No diplomat can create new alliances as fast as Trump can break them. It's like bombing infrastructure: a bridge can be sabotaged by one man at low cost, and take years to rebuild.
Good ideas, but if you want each member state to mobilize its people and resources, there must be unanimity on certain decisions, I’m afraid. I don’t know exactly how Nato works, though.
Simple answer : Imagine you needed unanimity for your president.
If it's a defensive alliance with more allowance than obligations, majority is good enough. Unanimity is paralyzing orgs. I'm not saying replace NATO, it's more an emergency answer to what current orgs can't do.
NO sports team would keep members who played for the other side, who sabotaged them so the team would lose.
Europe needs to be smart and kick members loyal to the enemy out of the EU and NATO, if they can't they need to form a new team to win. If they don't they will lose.
And one leader with too much power leads to quick demise (see the USA currently). No need to try to rally everyone, the most important point is geopolitics compatibility for faster decisions and actions.
We need efficiency right now, time is running out. "Next time" is a failure (aka Minsk 1,2...).
What about the fact that they are being attacked NOW, and it appears our US dumbarse prez may drag us into it in support of Putin?
What if Ukraine is murdered now?
War is not yet over. Trump is forcing Ukraine to surrender. If they refuse, war will keep happening, but without help of the USA. If we are serious about our own protection, we must help Ukraine to win. Only victory will give us valuable time to become stronger and better
Yes, thank you. What we are seeing here is that politicians want ONCE AGAIN to drag out the war, to shift responsibility to the next leaders, promise, and do nothing. Ukraine has to defeat russia NOW to prevent even bigger war. Make that happen instead of deceiving your populations and Ukrainians.
Europe has so many jets. Let's just give Ukraine half, with a pilots. We are cowards to fight russia directly. So let's allow Ukraine to fix our problem
Honestly, using fighter jets with our pilots is the easiest thing you can do while people still support it. Not hand it to Ukraine, but enforce a no fly zone for Russia on our own. What are peace guarantees work if no country is willing to join the combat, nothing.
There is no reason to be afraid of a direct involvement. It's an idiotic taboo that our politicians should get over with.
We just need to limit operations on occupied Ukrainian territory, and start with a devastating air campaign aimed at crippling the russian invading forces.
We are at war with russia. If we pretend we aren't, we already lost this war. The only way to win is NOW, while russia is weak. Every day, they become stronger while we are becoming more divided. Besides, those pilots can be "ix tam net" and jets can be purchased in every store

Defend Ukraine now. That means a military defeat of Russia.
Or you'll be next. With the experience Russia gained and the time they get to prepare, they'll be stronger.
Act now, or brush up on your Russian.
better learn russian or maybe cantonese, I don't know
this is the 11th hour , it is now or never

Same principal.
They’ve proven themselves. It’s three years in and Russia has barely moved the front. Actually they were driven back quite a bit in the north.
Most would have expected them to fall in a couple days/weeks.

--First they "ally."
--Putin takes Ukraine, while Don gets Canada & Greenland.
--Putin helps Xi take Taiwan, and Kim takes S. Korea.
--Then they all turn on the isolated US...
Time for all 630mio Europeans to support Ukraine's victory and secure lasting peace in Europe❤️🔥Use 300bill USD russian frozen assets NOW🙏
US has no bargaining leverage towards Ukraine, if Trump doesn't give them real security and a lasting European peace🤬
Those guaranties are worthless and if I were Ukraine, I would give zero trust on those. It's sad, but that is how it is.
Progress is painfully slow but it's happening.
