Labor’s Social Media Ban for kids bill is a masterclass in incompetence.
The bill tells social media companies to take ‘reasonable steps’ to determine age without ever defining what that means.
That’s not governance, that’s a dereliction of duty.
Look at some of this mess.👇

Just pathetic.
Instead of stopping kids from using such platforms, try education and support.
Plus the exclusion of online gaming clearly shows they are not that serious. I am sure that leads to bullying, not to mention grooming and teaching kids to gamble.
But when Rupert said jump ..
The ALP said ‘How high? ..’
Incompetence? Or collusion?
But instead, the government serves up this dogshit bill.
"South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas has revealed his wife pushed him to consider a ban on social media for kids, telling him one night that “you better effing do something about this”."
Ultimately, from a grifter selling books.
There are many big issues that resonate with Australians/ they misread the room
Surprised there’s not an annexure with this guys photo in it.
I think she is.
I know she is.
What I cant believe is how STUPID they are to allow such a opportunity for LNP to weaponize this for years! The liability of it is HUGE!!
Never hear the end of it EACH time a 'claim' of child accessing adult content!🗞️
This however is basically whatever the minister of the day feels it means. There's no objective standard to test against.
Wonder how many come from low SES families?
Wonder how many require access to their workplace social media pages for roster information, workplace announcements?
Gobsmacked at the lack of research into cause/effect.
Both of my kids work somewhere that uses Facebook Workplace. It's where all of the last minute shift-swapping happens.
