They are actually the membrane boundaries of keratinocytes. These large hexagonal cells are very distinct! -KT

Itβs a pseudo-colored images based on the expression of different fluorophores. Blue is DAPI (a cell nuclei stain) while Iβm not sure about the others. Definitely not what an eye looks like normal brightfield imaging!

Based on orientation, I think the anterior of the fish is facing up and weβve got a ventral view. 75% sure itβs the left eye! -KT
