If you're serious about this, I would start looking online. Depending on how far you want to move, I would type in the city you want to move to, then use the site's sorting options to find one in your price range.

well, right now it's more about gathering funds. soon I'll start looking around, hopefully I can still find something relatively close by.

Maybe find a nice basement apartment somewhere? That's what I did. You share the kitchen, but you have your own space.

I used to use the City Paper, but I think it's out of print. Try the rentals section of... hahaha. I don't think newspapers have rentals sections anymore.
