Walmart pays it's regular employees using a debit card if the employee doesn't name a bank for direct deposit. They usually get shorted due to various fee issues. Some people can't get a bank account.
These payment cards are such a scam, it's 100% a way to make money off the wages companies just paid. And if you lose the card or it's tampered with in any way it's almost impossible to get the money back. The payment card companies should be put out of business.
Now you know why all those tech bros are so interested in getting their grubby paws on federal regulatory apparatus.
Theres billions upon billions in making fee laced machine.
Yep, I had to use Branch to access my pay whether I wanted that option or not. Fees for this and that just to access my pay. Would drive to a specific ATM miles from home just to withdraw my pay fee free.
I mean, how much money will ever be enough if you're willing to break the law and outright steal from your hard-working employees? I thought Ebenezer Scrooge was a fictional character.
I worked for a trucking co years ago. To get my wages we had to sign into these sites and it cost me to get my wages. One more “tax” to get my wages. And corps made more money off the worker.
Wait, did Walmart & Branch Messenger “cost” delivery drivers millions of dollars in fees by opening deposit accounts without consent & requiring their use to get paid, or; did Walmart and Branch Messenger conspire to profit from a scheme to defraud Walmart’s contract employees? Seems like crime too.
I remember when I enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1997 they forced us to open checking accounts with Fort Sill National Bank in Oklahoma. A lot of the graduating marines had to go to the trouble of canceling their accounts because many already had bank accounts with other financial institutions.
Come on, have we forgotten when Walmart took out "peasant" life insurance policies on its employees? If it's indecent, and disgusting the Walton family is there for it.
“the consumer bureau never allowed the company "a fair opportunity" to make its case during the investigation.”
😂 lawsuit will settle why they had a scheme to defraud its employees
If we fail to treat gig workers as human … and fail to enforce laws against abuse of humans, and fail to … oh who am I kidding … buy WMT 120C [email protected]
Walmart doesn't care about their customers, workers, or any of its vendors. They are a cut rate/ cut throat business with size and power on their side. Take everything from you can.

Republicans want to eliminate the CFPB which would allow companies to keep ripping us off.
