Do you know why all of these are in black and white? I know it was right around the same time color photos were becoming ubiquitous and am confused why every picture I see of MLK Jr is in B&W. My assumption is that's the film they were taken with but it seems odd to have all B&W in 1965.
I heard about this anniversary and was surprised. I’d learned about Bloody Sunday via the U2 song and had remembered it had been about an event in Ireland.
We can't even get "GQ" Jeffries to take off those sunglasses, put on a hoodie, sneakers and tell 50,000 angry Americans,
"Meet me at the monument! We're taking this to the streets!"
Acts of civil disobedience forcing police to arrest him would do much to galvanize the opposition.
On display in Montgomery? Alabama?
Does the state or federal government have any cancel
Culture control of this museum? Does it even matter if they don’t? I hope there are copies safely stored somewhere.
“You’ve got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made
And people whose skin is a different shade
You've got to be taught before it's too late
Before you are six or seven or eight
To hate all the people your relatives hate
You've got to be carefully taught”
“May the Declaration of Independence be to the world what I believe it to be, a signal to arouse men. Calling them to burst from their chains under which monkish ignorance & superstition have persuaded them to bind themselves, to assume the blessings & security of self-government.” Thomas Jefferson
