No Other Land has no U.S. distributor, so the filmmakers have had to make one-on-one deals with cinemas. Art house theaters such as O Cinema have been screening the film independently.

If lease is pulled consider showing out side w donations to cover costs and perhaps a Go Fund Me page. It IS an attempt at censorship through the Mayors office. Vote him out.
I'm an American and I have a Jewish neighbor who still has his Trump/Vance campaign sign in his front yard with a spotlight for night display. I never thought I'd see a Jewish Fascist but they are alive and well here and in Netanyahu's Israel.
Not once in the article does the word zionism appear. What has all the money I have donated help to accomplish? This one toe in, and then hide BS has to stop. At least all of the on-air talent hasn’t lost their moral compass. Do better because once the crosshairs of doge arrive, we all lose NPR.
They can get their FCC licenses pulled on a whim, and right now some stations are struggling so bad, that 5% might as well be 25%. It is not unfair to expect more from their editorial staff at the moment.
Saw this last week at Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington NY Long Island. Showed it twice a day for a week. Excellent independent theater. Great documentary. Didn’t realize most was filmed BEFORE Hamas took Jewish hostages. Extremely eye opening. Everyone should be given the opportunity to see this.
And they sit around and boast about how the USA is the 'Land of the Free' and 'at least we have free speech'. Nothing could be farther from the truth and it is only going to get worse with Trump leading the way.
I am denying the problem is exclusive to Florida.
This state is not single-handedly responsible for Trump and the MAGAt movement, but the Florida hate at least two decades old.
We're not all MAGAts. In 2024, Harris captured 43% of the popular vote. That's 4,680,890 Harris voters.
They didn’t say it was exclusively a Florida problem. you came in assuming & got mad. Florida has many problems due to the right wing bs that sorry to say not enough people down there do enough to stop it. I live in a red state too. I don’t get upset when people rightfully talk shit about it.
You're right, for the most part.
But you must admit, Florida has been the favorite punching bag for a few decades, pre-dating MAGAtism.
It's not easy being a Blue Dot. Even having liberal bumper stickers seems like an act of courage, LOL.
If you cannot show an Oscar winning film for fear of having funding withdrawn or economic reprisals then the USA does not have free speech. Has anyone mentioned this to JD Vance who lectured the UK. Why such efforts to not let people see the true depths of Palestinian suffering. Is there no empathy
What you do is stick raw ground beef in the air vents. Then, after you move out, maggots come raining out of the skies.
It’s a good little tip for the unjust eviction newbies.
I searched for ways to watch it online or at a theater and got a notice that it is unavailable in the US. It irritates me that market and/or government censorship prevents me from seeing this film. I may or may not agree with everything in it, but I should be able to see and evaluate it for myself.
The model was trained in russia, china, india and israel and perfected by the last few years of twitter, truth and fox news data. We were too naive it could never happen in the US. They have also figured out how to stay in power forever, and that's what they are trying to do right now.
@alamodrafthouse.bsky.social any screenings planned? Especially now during SXSW?
So many things that originated in our city, that were the best thing about our city, started in your theaters - this is the time.
It's time to remove politicians that threaten the 1st Amendment with funding cut offs, their Trial is currently in session, their Drumhead will be 1-20-29
Saw “No Other Land” at the Cinema Moderne in Montreal, tonight. We must support this important film and the cinemas that show it. Everyone should see it, ESPECIALLY those who blindly oppose it!
yeah, we ain't doing this shit. the hilarious part of Zionists weaponizing "antisemitism" as a phrase is the natural backlash to such absurd accusations emboldens literal anti-semites to crawl out of the woodwork.
we don't like Zionism as neo-colonialism. you don't like Jews. we are not the same.
I have yet to run into a conservative who is willing to explain why they think that. Like most of the things they believe, they were told to by right wing propaganda.
So it’s made by Israelis and Palestinians, both Israelis and Palestinians don’t like the film, but it’s somehow anti-Semitic and one-sided? If their funding is revoked then they have themselves a Supreme Court case.
Censorship by Jewish owned media and theaters. Hollowood does nothing but spread Islamaphobia and Arab hate. Even tried make IOF super Hero while Israel is committing Genocide.
I implore everyone to watch this film. as a disclaimer, I have always sympathized with the Palestinian cause but this film really laid bare the reality of Palestineans living under the constant threat of an Israeli state that progressively more and more aggressive in trying to eliminate them.
I have a lot of thoughts, and a discussion question: Judaism is both an ethnicity and a faith. Not every ethnic Jew practices the faith., some Jews are converts. How do Jewish folks wrestle with these issues, and (when there is conflict) do ethnic and faith identities grow more salient?
As far as antisemites go they equate all Jews with the Israeli government because they simply hate Jews. If anti-zionism is not antisemitism then why do people constantly conflate the two in their rhetoric? When I post judaica jewelry why are people antisemitic with me if it’s just about “zionism?”
Thank you for explaining. This is incredibly helpful, and actually helps me understand my own heritage a bit. My paternal grandmother’s side was Jewish, but then there was some issue (I’m unclear about what happened).
I have some Arab ancestry in my Jewish side, so I see Muslims and Arabs, Gazans and Palestinians as my brothers and family — just as much as I see those that perished 10.7 or were taken hostage as my family. I hate that my family has been embroiled in this for so long.
…antisemitism is very real, judenhass (“Jew Hate” the word that was used before a “nicer” word was created) is violent ever changing. It morphs with the ailments & issues of the times. People on all sides get angry w/me for being Indigenous/Latino/Jewish, especially cause I am a bridge builder.
You know, I think part of why being of mixed heritage (and having each identity be salient) is so hard for others is because it demonstrates that race is socially constructed, and we’re all equally human. Our heritage/cultures (to put it simply) are unique, but biologically, we are all human.
I have been told by some Native Americans and Latinos if I am
Jewish I cannot be one of them and I have been told by some Jewish people that they have no obligation to recognize ethnicity beyond being a Jew. I refuse to choose & anyone who insists I do or forces me too isn’t a friend.
Yes! People very much struggle with my mixed ethnicity and the way I have been able to embrace all aspects of my unique multi-ethnic and cultural mix fully. I have been able to cross conflicted ethnic lines & find peace, which proves just like you said that race is definitely socially constructed.
There are bad actors all the way around. Hamas is not innocent of human rights abuses & neither is Bibi. The rest of us, even at times the IDF — Jews, Muslims, Arabs, Druze, Gazans, Israelis — we are pawns in a much bigger conflict of ego colliding with terrorism & money. But that being said…
Thank you for listening. I would never tell anyone to stay away from Palestinian literature or film. My Arabic teacher was a Palestinian refugee. The conflict is so very heartbreaking and complicated and stretches so far back into the past, it’s really hard to know everything.
When she was a young girl, one of her teachers segregated the kids based on whether or not they were Jewish. She was on the Jewish side. My grandfather’s mother was also Jewish, but since he didn’t marry a Jewish woman (because somehow my grandmother was no longer Jewish?
(I used to be clear on the details but now that I’ve read your explanation, I have a lot of questions and confusion.) In any case, what you share makes sense to me because it’s similar to my mother’s side which is Kanien’keha:ka, black and white (French). Long story short, we’re Kanien’keha:ka, but
I see what happened. You are a patrilineal Jew by ancestry. Some movements don’t recognize patrilineal Jews. I am Sephardic and we say a Jew is a Jew is a Jew. I went through reclamation myself under guidance of several rabbis (because I had been adopted later in childhood.) Even was Orthodox!
But It’s complicated. All that to say that I think I get it. My mind is spinning with questions. This has been so HELPFUL! Thank you so much for educating me. I have more to learn!
We have laws in Judaism called halacha that dictate how we must treat war time and other human beings. Bibi is not following these laws at all. I personally believe in a two-state solution and Israel has an obligation to help Gazans to rehabilitate them. Doesn’t matter to antisemites though.
I personally live in a Muslim and Arab neighborhood. It is a neighborhood filled with asylum and refugee seekers from Islamist rule (notice I said Islamist, which is very different.) I adore my neighbors, they know I am Jewish but also SWANA, and they adore me.
People like Netanyahu are actually not religious and have abandoned Jewish values for what is known as Kahanism. Kahanism is a stance that the Likud Party takes (Bibi’s political party) and is right-wing like MAGA here. I am considered religious left meaning I abhor Bibi, can’t stand him.
Some Jewish people are atheist, a lot are actually, but still practice cultural aspects that look like religion to goyim.
Atheist Jews may still observe Shabbat or other holidays such as Purim — because our holidays aren’t necessary G_d focused, they are a celebration of not being killed.
When you convert, you become Jewish, you just don’t practice Judaism. You are not referred to as a convert once you convert. People who wish to convert are discouraged from doing so. We are a closed practice. A person who convert’s soul or neshama was at Mt Sinai with us, their neshama is Jewish.
Being Jewish is an ethnicity and a culture. Judaism is an ETHNORELIGION. It is not like Christianity. It’s a land-based set of indigenous practices. Judaism was created to keep Jews connected in exile.

Some people are seriously prejudiced and bigoted about Florida (where I live).

Or put it up for free so the world can receive the message.
