Between the slate of tariffs currently in effect and proposed tariffs on car parts, the cost of car ownership is rising. And that's true even if you're not in the market for a vehicle.

Abandon NATO Allies
Start Trade War with Europe, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, Viet Nam, Taiwan, etc
End Humanitarian Aid to Africa…………
China fills void as only Stable Economic Power!
No Other Genius could have created “America Alone and Broke” so fast!
If new vehicles aren't being sold, it means older vehicles are going up in value which means the cost to insure goes up. If parts are harder to source, it means repairs are more costly which means rates go up. Older vehicles have less safety features, meaning higher rates.
it went up 20-25% last year nationwide.. I was told "because people aren't getting insurance so yours increases"... Insurance is bullshit, but it will no doubt go up if parts become more expensive, replacements will become much more and so LESS will get insurance due to cost, rising it further.
Do you have the money to pay out if you run over someones kid? Or for medical bills if your car gets crushed by a tractor trailer?
It sucks but the alternative is basically impossible.
Oh, I'm with Luigi on health insurance!
Car insurance is different, though.
Healthcare is a human right. No one should profit off killing people or harming their health.
I'm so glad I bought an EV in 2022 so I don't need parts other than tires and filters. Those with massive trucks can pay for all the parts and servicing. Have fun.

I'm holding off because public transportation is terrible where I live, but I can't wait too much longer.
