National Weather Service employees were encouraged to take early retirements at an all-hands meeting Thursday. The union believes as many as 1,000 could leave in the coming months - out of a workforce of just over 4,000.

That will be next on my list. I’ll probably need some satellites too. I’m getting good at understanding the past 24 hours of weather and how the different measurements interact with each other. Now to figure out the future…
