I will say, playing Donkey Kong Country Returns HD has made me want to give Tropical Freeze another try; I beat it in 2014, but didn’t love it, but I kinda had a lot on my plate mentally at the time. I also want to go back and finish Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair once I’m done with DKC 3. - ThreadSky

I think TF is one of Nintendo’s better modern 2D platformers. Best levels imo are the later ones, they’re peak tough but fair.

When I played it back then, I found the level of challenge more frustrating than DKCR. It was a stressful time for me though. First kid was on the way, and so I don’t think I was in the right place for a game that was stressful on top of that 😂

Funny enough, the Kirby game that came out the following year drove me ABSOLUTELY NUTS! 😂

I really, really disliked Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. Gorgeous visuals though.

Oh yeah that one was one of my least favorites in the series. And even then, it’s a sequel to Canvas Curse, the only one that’s legitimately challenging to just beat it.

Even the visuals were compromised by needing to use the GamePad for everything but co-op.
