Oh, you meant about the print...
Looks like it needs more cooling especially on the bridge(and maybe temperature tuning for filament), it is likely printing too fast for un-tuned machine. A lower resolution or variable layer heights would improve the appearance for the "first print" experience.

They need to test their machine more. Providing any gcode with a printer (and hopefully sample resin to use) should generate a print that represents the achievable quality of the machine. That deviation is pretty gnarly.

Anyone have time to offer a noob some free technical advice or steer me towards some good 3D educational support?

I’m learning 3D modeling mostly with Youtube. I’ve built a model in Sketch up I hope to print. I group the elements & scaled down.

Are there other steps prior to exporting as a STL?

I don’t have a 3D printer however I’ve ordered a small print of this model (9”) from an online vendor and expect to receive it any day.

There seems to be a regular defect (can be seen on the housing and on the stern) that strongly suggests there's an issue with the Z-axis. It's not really fair to test gcode on a machine with mechanical errors. I would want to fix that and maybe check other aspects before judging the gcode.

But seriously, did it include what settings were used for slicing, what slicer was used, all that? It's not the best quality but a 25 minute benchy is incredibly impressive.

Cooling looks way too low - flow ratio and or PA looks off too. It almost looks like they didn’t build a proper profile for it. That weird line on the hull could be flow? Maybe mechanical glitch?

It's impossible to judge with only a benchy and a single picture but this was printed too fast for me. I would print slower and use other prints to better isolate other potential issues.
