There's a number of games I feel kinda step things up and really do things with the formula for their sequel.
I feel like Gen 2 of Pokemon was a bit of a step up.
Zelda: Majora's Mask went off.
And boy, Kingdom Hearts II is a fucking sequel. Enjoy it.
