I bought a year ago. I see it as saving the cost of rent and diversifying my 401k monies. Glad I did given status of stock market. I hope to break even when I sell.

I was always annoyed when I heard people say that renting a place to live means “throwing money away.” You’re paying for a place to live. That’s not throwing money away.

Also, in the long run and short-term in the US it can really be cheaper to rent what one can afford than to buy a house. This is because even after paying off the place the monthly property taxes may be more than some local rents.

Love it if someone would lay out how freezing funds & budgets, firing federal workers, deportations, & tarrifs will cost millions of jobs & shutter private businesses. Cutting social security and Medicaid will leave people starving, dying and homeless. It will cause economic collapse—a depression.
