“The researchers found that their approach, which uses signals stored within circulating cell-free DNA sequence data, had 80% sensitivity at predicting whether a pregnant individual would experience preterm preeclampsia or not.”

Thanks for sharing.
It’s so frustrating, when diagnosed in the 3rd trimester, to be told that it develops in the 1st trimester & it’s too late to do anything to stop it.
If predicted by this test in the 1st trimester will treatment be developed to stop it happening?
- so nothing I’d done.
I was told by my GP after 3rd trip to hospital, on asking to be signed off sick to rest (& prevent more visits, yet protect my pay & have leaving date honoured by employer).
“No, you’re not sick: you’re pregnant, you should’ve thought about it before booking maternity leave so late!”
All was well with my daughter but I was left with permanent high blood pressure
(& told not to have more children “As it didn’t go well 1st time”)
But then I got #Longcovid in 2020 & higher BP & POTS/PEM/myocarditis/ exertional angina 2ndary to cardiac microvascular dysfunction.
Might this test predict who is at risk of endothelial dysfunction after #Covid_19?
New Test to predict preeclampsia could similar be use in #longcovid prediction?

Prof Jeremy K Nicholson was predicting who would get severe acute covid-19 or long covid using microbiome in 2021/22 did it work?
“demonstrate that assessment of cfDNA nucleosome accessibility from early-pregnancy cfDNA sequence data enables the detection of early placental and endothelial-tissue aberrations and may aid in the determination of preeclampsia risk.
