My Nan n my uncle were at the 1946 tragedy. Uncle was a lad & was passed overhead to get him out. He did turnstiles at Burnden. Sister & I sold raffle tickets in the early 1970s.😂 I'm in the USA but my older sister, her hubby, son and their 4 grandchildren are season ticketholders.
At the time, we had a great team with John Byrom, Warwick Rimmer, Roy Greaves, Charlie Wright, Peter Nicholson, Paul Jones, etc., with Sam Allardyce, Peter Reid, Barry Sidall and Neil Whatmore about to emerge from the reserves.
