But of course "the Confederacy had the better commanders" is a bullshit ideas that Hegseth, being a fool, believes unconditionally, like all of the other bigoted false things he appears to believe with the same vigor and lack of wisdom.

Does he even believe it? He's from Minnesota and reminds me of Corey Stewart, also Minnesotan, who did a carpetbagging larp as a neo-Confederate to attract votes from the GOP base, in order to advance his political aspirations in Virginia
I struggle to communicate my disdain for Pete Hegseth but I am committed to continue trying even if it curtails any career prospects (however dim or remote) I may have had in PME.
And please explain how the words he has written in his own books--that anyone to the left of Christian Nationalists are the enemy-- do not disqualify him from leadership roles.
I've never been able to get one of them to calm down and spell out if they really think Marxism is still a thing somehow or if they're just rage-gushing a lot of angry words. Like, their grandfather hated Marxists so they have to yell about them too?
Given that Republicans insist Budweiser, Nike, and Instagram are all owned and operated by The Left, I think reading about this 100 years from now would be incredibly funny.
Anheuser-Busch (owns Budweiser) is public but majority owned by three rich Belgian families and a giant private investment firm. Nike is public but majority owned by institutional investors like Vanguard and Blackrock. Instagram is... Zuckerberg. It's billionaires all the way down.
I agree with the sentiment I've seen expressed that we have tons of disqualifying things about him, but so far no one has even tried to propose that he has a qualifying trait.
Well, you see, he lacks the temperament for the office, and the experience, and the good character, and the sobriety, and the judgement, and the background, and the intellectual capabilities, and the gravitas, but on the other hand he has...um...well....uh....er...you see...ah...so...🤷♂️
Isn't it intrinsically bullshit to suggest they had any kind of good commanders when those commanders willingly picked an unwinnable fight? They're just deciding who cracked the most plaster running head-first into a brick wall
Even if they did have some good commanders (if you squint, if you examine the outcome of certain battles, etc.) that DOESN'T OUTWEIGH TREASON! YOU SHOULDN'T GET THINGS NAMED AFTER YOU WHEN YOU COMMIT TREASON!
Off topic, but I had just been listening to a Lord of the Rings audiobook, and over the course of this sentence, I started hearing what you wrote in Gandalf's voice.

Pete Hegseth: Likes people who commit treason.
