It's a tough sell to get my friends to back the National Guard.

I think I might do a little skill-share with my friends where I explain the branches of the armed forces and which ones are more loyal to liberalism.

Actually...! 😃 This is not all wrong. While ICE was paramilitarized when DoD refused to deploy against the People on American soil (as it still does), the National Guard is in the precarious (and vulnerable) position of not being fully under DoD.

So, we suspect that, if DoD volunteered the recent deployment of marines, it's with the intent of helping NG regroup and peaceably exfil. All it appears that the armed forces were obligated to do was ensure that ICE officials were safe (but not retain responsibility for that safety).
