The thing is, the people making this decision for Trump are likely counting on ICE agents facing further and increased abuse and hoping it gets "silent majority" folks on their side. So they don't even care about the welfare of the people they are sending in.

Even before last week, a majority of Republicans (52%, but still) opposed the manner in which the deportations are carried out. I know the right wing has a totally different reality from their media ecosystem, but I can't help but think the mask is slipping
