Probably built the new stadium at the wrong time. You only have to look at how stadiums built even a decade later surpass The Emirates in regards to the innovation and atmosphere.

They got hammered at the time around planning consent and had to build it lower than intended which forced the seats further back on a lower rake. Impacting the atmosphere.

I just feel we may have jumped the gun a bit. No one seems to have ever been completely happy with the new stadium.

I think an increase in capacity will be great, but it should probably be Arsenal with the best ground in London rather than that lot down the road🙄😂.

Might well be the case. Maybe today we would have got a lot closer to ideal than they could at the time, given what’s followed. Although today’s construction costs are crazy too, the amount Spurs spent is insane.

Good thing about the Emirates is that it is not tightly constrained by adjacent housing (at least on two sides) giving an opportunity to go up or possibly down given the width of the pitch side. I suspect the stadium was future proofed to enable this to happen

I'm not sure how this can happen without closing down the railways either side of the ground for an extended amount of time. The concourse is already narrow on those sides
