I wish I knew smth less generic but as with any software forcing yourself to use hot keys and becoming familiar with where your most used tools are is gonna shave off a lot of time on your projects! To be fair I don't do that myself, but if I wanted to get faster that's where I'd start!
i don't use brio so i can't offer much that's specific to that, but generally things that help me are:
- finding an emote (or pose mxd) that's close to what i want to speed up the process of getting all the limbs and such into position; i like to look for things that get the arms/legs as close as
possible bc i find elbows/knees to be a nightmare to work on myself. i AAAALWAYS try to find a good expression emote before i turn on pose mod too just bc the face bones can be overwhelming and eliminating as many steps as possible helps me a ton 😭
- i also like to have multiple cameras i can swap between; usually one that's the designated "camera i'm actually going to take the screenshot from" and then 2-3 cameras i use to get up really close (especially for things like faces or hands), or get into a better angle to reach the bones i need
- my posing tool has an autosave feature which i love bc a) sometimes my fucking game crashes or my internet goes out and poses usually take me an hour or two and i Do Not want to lose all that progress, but b) it takes a TON of the pressure off bc i can just fuckin. stop whenever i want and
come back later. idk if brio has this but if not i would just recommend exporting your progress periodically so that in the event it's taking a long time or (god forbid) the game blows up on you you haven't lost everything 😭
- i have fibro so i can't always dedicate a big, single slot of time to
posing, so what i like to do is commit to doing my poses in stages. usually the stages look something like 1) collect any props/gear/etc i'm gonna need for the pose + make a glamour profile if applicable, 2) find my 'base' poses via emotes/pose mxds, 3) scout out a location, 4) do as much posing
