I'm going to Japan in April! We're flying into Osaka and the plan is Kyoto, Hiroshima, and Nara in that area, staying in Kyoto for the majority of the time and taking the train out. We're flying out of Tokyo so the second half of the trip will be in that area.

How long are you there for? Hiroshima is really lovely, but Hokkaido at the end of winter is spectacular. Get yourself to Sapporo and try some soup curry.

13 days, so not long this time! Probably not going to make it off Honshu on this trip, which is a shame because Sapporo looks amazing.

Ahh unfortunate! You'll just have to go back. Would also recommend Nagoya and I personally think Kochi is pretty special. Some amazing beaches, some nice walking and hiking options and the city itself is pretty adorable.
