It's nuts isn't it. Maybe it's a mentality thing. He felt he couldn't play through little niggles because of the pressure or the high level or something. Van Persie was like that. Roy Keane the very opposite
Strange how when players leave United they suddenly start to play well, McTominay doing really well at Napoli, Sancho an improved player at Chelsea and now even Antony is scoring goals at Real Betis. No doubt Villa will start seeing the best of Rashford too.
I don’t care about him either, l feel a bit cheated by him. All that talent, but prefered to do as little as possible for the club who paid him huge wages.
The clubs understandably guilty of holding onto mentally wrecked players because of the "what if?" conundrum.
Needs some changes in approach to mental health and scouting. Forward signings werent the best options while Amad showed a lot more than farming him out on loan.
Maybe it's as simple as he wasn't enjoying it, similar to Antony now, and I wouldn't hold that against them, the only one I wouldn't wish well that's moved on would be Sancho
The Faustian Pact that allowed us to be insanely successful under Fergie subjected us to a horrific curse after his retirement. It’s the only logical explanation
Firstly, how did he get an hyena.
Secondly, how did he get said hyena into the ground
Thirdly how did the lazy hanger on dig up the old Trafford pitch to bury it given the 24/7 attendance of security.
His head. Much of it was in his mind and he's by no means alone in that, eg Saha. Shame it came to that, but hey, life goes on.
Sometimes a club suits a player whereas another one doesn't. Sometimes it's the league or country that doesn't suit, eg Veron, Falcao, maybe Antony.
that's kinda true. English football is extremely physical and fast-paced; look at the competitiveness in general. compare it to another top league Serie A, a lot of top players there struggled massively in premier league, and that's the case for majority of the leagues. I'm happy for Martial
I feel a bit cheated when it comes to Martial. There’s absolutely no doubt about his talent and ability. For years he was hardly fit when playing for us, now he’s never injured 🤷♀️
I dont get injured walking, but I probably would at a sprint.
Think its the same with Martial, enough talent to be effective in Greece at 80% of his limit, rather than the 100% you need to be in the PL. That last 10-20% put his body in the red zone.
The reverse. Højlund and Zirkzee. Keane used to say he had harder tranings than matches in PL. Today at United the opposite is true. We have MUCH harder matches, cos our defenders train against Rasmus, Garnacho and Zirkzee and face Mateta, Salah, Maddison. All better than what we train against.
I was joking. It sort of makes sense, but still doesn’t explain the extreme lengths of his injuries. He was happy collecting his huge wages and putting in minimal effort.
Could be. Don't have any stat on his owlevels gettingup in morning :D There is one thing I haven't had answered anywhere. We hired a tonn of previous gunners staff in sport science and physio. Pre Arteta gunners was shocking at it, with lots injury. I hope it is not that gang we have brought in.

Maybe that’s the problem.
