I get it. My own grandma fled Germany into Poland. Eventually, she found her way to the US. She passed 25 years ago this month. I was 11, but I remember the stories. My husbands grandfather fled to the US when his whole family was killed. There was nothing left for him. I can't speak my fears. 😓
