Absolutely. Also we should pour all our energy into getting the next steps right rather than relitigating why we have not taken them already. We can do that later.

Yes, everyone in Europe expected Trump to be difficult and the US to withdraw from Europe in the mid- to long term. But I think it’s fair not to have expected the US to wholly turn against us.
