American fascism, even GOP fascism in specific, predates the Taliban by decades.

When we compare American/white extremism to the Taliban, ISIS, etc., we're leaning on the stereotype that Muslims are scary and dangerous. That only feeds into the American/white extremism we're trying to criticize.
