As a nonprofit that frequently sues the federal government, EFF understands that an independent legal profession is a fundamental component of democracy and the rule of law. That, and 1st Amendment rights more broadly, are threatened by executive orders targeting law firms.

Maybe its time those prestigious firms move aside and get out of the way of new firms that will rise to the challenge of upholding their ethics, the Constitution, and democracy. Maybe those firms are past their prime.
