A long time ago, an astronomy professor told us that “stars are born at Zero Age Main Sequence.” His license plate was ZAMS. I hope it’s true, because it’s poetic and I love it.
My mind can wrap itself around the vastness of space/Interpace/universe, but my mind cannot wrap itself around the fact that if I was in a spaceship with no special functions for filtering light wavelengths, that would all just look like black with dots.
Can anyone explain what exactly is happening here? It looks like a certain critical mass of matter has been achieved, a vortex has formed that is aggregating the matter.
No, this is what JWST revealed is happening in the protostar within the dark cloud L1527. The protostar itself is hidden from view within the ‘neck’ of this hourglass shape.
If you look at the very center, you can see the dark protoplanetary disk, which is so thick it blocks a greater magnitude of light from illuminating the left and right regions. The top and bottom of the disk are letting light through so we can see the cloud and past ejections
When we were kids my brother and I would go out to the backyard on a clear summer night and to look at the stars. We were hoping to see the Echo 1 satellite as it passed across the night sky.
Now we can look at sights like this on the little computer screen we carry around. Mind boggling!!
I'm trying to figure what is seen there. Is it the collapse of twin swirls of energised gas to form the actual star? This being probably thousands or millions of years before a proto-planetary disc forms? 🤔
It often occurs to me that nothing looks like anything without being seen. You might think that’s a triviality but when dabbling in the nature of reality, it really isn’t.

Space does space-y things apparently
Life doing life things
Creation mystery doing mysterious creative things
And teeny humans on tiny Earth
Consider what's for dinner...
And I'm wondering where the day went bc it's dark already.
This image gives he hope.
Thanks for posting.
ZAMS to you!

And then i start thinking about how big space is compared to us and the existential crisis begin

imagine you're in a single cell?
and everything that's going around inside the cell has it's purpose.. just like in space.
PostScript
are there's gates to the galaxies, where stuff enters, and stuff leaves like a single cell. RNA is like God.. a correspondent.
