4.37 light-years is the distance to Alpha Centauri, the closest star system in out galaxy. The Andromeda Galaxy is 2.53 million light-years away from Earth. It is on a collision course with our galaxy in 4.5 billion years.
Thanks. I vaguely remember deGrasse Tyson on Cosmos (?) talking about what the two galaxies might end up looking like after the crash. But not the time frame.
