I have reached the point that "please call your representatives" means that representatives and senators supposedly on my side are so completely the fuck out of touch they don't recognize good policy from bad and only care about getting along with Republicans.

And I get angry.

"Bipartisanship" is neither a virtue nor is it automatically desirable. It's a political tool and should be used when necessary, not venerated and fondled.

I don't care about working with Republicans. I care about good policy. The former can lead to the latter, but never the other way around.

Amen on that fact! Sadly, bipartisanship has been more or less dead since the 2010's decade now, if not the late 2000's. Clearly the Republicans themselves showed us that example firsthand there...
