It's my understanding that PARC was compensated for Apple's 90-minute visit with a pre-IPO Apple stock deal.

If that is wildly off-base, let me know and I'll purchase the book.

pretty close. there were two visits. controversy on both sides of the table. the book goes into detail; they interviewed folks from Xerox and Apple to get both sides of the story.
