Pharmaceutical “middlemen” are now being referred to as an industry. An industry worth $557 billion. Who are they? Why are they needed? Who “owns” them? Can’t the manufacturer sell their product directly to the pharmacy and then onto the consumer? And essentially cut 1/2 TRILLION from the trade.
