Rebel’s vegan brie (regular and truffle) is an exception to this truism. It’s delicious, and it has the tang and the creamy mouth feel of good dairy brie. Rebel’s brie is expensive but I highly recommend it (you can buy it directly from them).
As a vegetarian who regularly eats vegan and who often subs in plant-based meat, I will nonetheless unabashedly punch anyone who claims that vegan meat and cheese are "just like the real thing."

They are not, you lying little heifers, and you know they're not.
