I highly recommend updating your bio before doing anything else to folks who wish to create a network on any social media platform, particularly in Bluesky.

I decide whether to follow a profile based on its bio. Many new users start by following other profiles and, at some point, set up their own profiles. I feel that I miss many potential good profiles that I might follow if I had more information.
