He only meant to stay a few minutes, check and make sure Soap was okay and then leave. But he found his feet growing into lead the more he thought about leaving. What if he just climbed in next to Soap?

So he carefully reached out and shook Soap awake, the other man looked thoroughly confused. Especially since Ghost just barged his way into Soap's bed. “Nightmare” was all Ghost said and Soap settled down.

He let Ghost maneuver them into a spooning position, Soap didn't ask any questions and Ghost was grateful. He didn't want to talk about it at the moment. Instead he just wanted to sleep, he was so tired from his recent nightmares.

So he buried his face in the nape of Soap's neck and inhaled his scent, he was safe and alive and warm. He was pretty sure Soap had already fallen asleep, the lucky bastard.

It only took a few minutes but Ghost began to drift off. They were safe, and with Soap right next to him the nightmares left him alone for the rest of the night.
