the timeskip happened after they sat down to eat there. It's really stupid though. They spent 5 months living together with the chief's decaying corpse? Wearing the same clothes and shooting random buildings to pass the time - and more importantly, Asa spent 5 MONTHS in the backseat?

Your concern is completely valid, the time skip is a little crazy and also doesn’t make much sense. However pacing-wise one month could still entail a lot of character development. Also, when the death devil descends it’s not like the manga will end right there, there could be tons of chapters

The pacing for part 2 is such an odd choice because thematically part 1 was so good and cohesive. Part 2 in the beginning was vey strong, but suddenly it was like he was throwing darts at an idea board and trying to make all he plotpoints work. The buildup just feels so wasted :/

Okay the only logical point at which the timeskip must've happened was when Denji was in the public safety facility, he's still wearing the same clothes as before, the guy Yoru killed two chapters ago is still there, not rotting or anything, or Fujimoto just majorly fucked up

Though if the time-skip happened then (and it’s not a case of the prophecy date changing to be moving up sooner) would that be evidence that Nayuta’s head was a fake, since it wasn’t rotting? Or is it implying that Nayuta had been kept alive for months and only recently got decapitated?
