the Brazilian Miku trend was fun but at the same time it makes me a bit sad because when you do the same except make a character black, that artist gets 1billion death threats from racists who have never experienced happiness before.

god yea!! and even within brazilian miku, the majority of brazilian population is black or dark skinned and the few brazilian miku that reflected that were sorta brushed under the carpet of tanned miku
honestly i kind of think the brazilian miku design itself could have been more than just her with darker skin, different clothes, and slightly different hair
Is it the thing about how Latinas are so heavily fetishized by western society that any portrayals of them spark (sexual) interest rather than disgust? That’s my theory anyways.
Anti-blackness has gone fucking insane online. So goddamn sick of it. Like apparently the five worst things you could be online are: trans, black, jewish, liberal, and mentally ill
GUESS I HIT THE LOTTERY THEN GODS DAMMIT ALL FUCCCCK
I've grown numb to this shit, but as a black nerd it literally feels impossible to exist among a space where it doesn't feel like everything wants to lynch you for being black and breathing in the wrong direction
Fr. The amount of times I've seen an artist get harassed for drawing a black edit of an anime character. There was one artist I liked that got a few hate comments for drawing Melanated Goku, but thankfully they took it in stride.
this one thinks the solution would be to do it anyway because racists can fuck off, but this one lacks the artistic skill to put its money where its mouth is, and furthermore probably shouldn't start the trend regardless due to a lack of of understanding of the cultural nuances at play
No fr, even within the trend itself, if someone made Miku a black Brazillian instead of a tan Brazillian, there were a SLEW of racist comments after racist comments.

Like thanks dude, immense amounts of concentration and wit must have gone into thinking that one up.
