The Zoo, Xmas lights for the animals! Never had those when I lived there, at least not on this scale maybe a few old incandescent fairy light strings. So lucky to have this literally in my backyard as a child. Thank you for keeping Dump Tower out of the skyline BTW.
What's the story with the building on the far left? Why is it much bigger than its surroundings? From different angles does it still look as isolated from the rest of the skyline?
It's Lake Point Tower, which I just had to look up. It's 70 floors, which is more than I thought, but still, look at the Wikipedia page photo "Position in Chicago skyline" to see what I mean about it not appearing so tall from other angles. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Point_Tower
I see it now. Viewing it from different angles makes it clear that it's not as isolated as it looks in the picture and it looks fairly average compared to nearby buildings. It has a really cool design.
