I don't think it's in just the "medium term" ... given the level of compromise that will happen over the next four years, I think the idea of the U.S. being a credible partner related to things like national security are gone for good; there's no coming back from what is about to happen.
I think Carney is signaling that itβs βlong enoughβ to necessitate new partnerships without making pronouncements on whether our neighbours are gone for good. Itβs the right balance.
Greenland has been part of Denmark for 700 years. European territories outside of continental Europe (Dutch/French Caribbean islands) are part of the EU. As of right now, the membership in the EU requires being on the European continent. I would be very happy if they changed that requirement!
Fucking Brexit! We are still part of the commonwealth (not one of those soft as baby shit allies has said anything about Shitler threatening to Annex Canada). We need better friends or nuclear weapons. I vote for a strong nuclear deterent. Geopolitical friends can't be trusted!
