I worked in the semiconductor industry for over 8 years and your statement is incorrect in that there several companies, including Nikon, that make lithography tools/machines. However you are 💯% correct that they are all made overseas and tariffs are going to make them significantly more expensive.

You've made an incredibly important point, we just have to be more accurate than those pedaling lies.

The real lie on their part is that the tariffs will bring back mfg jobs. Not only will they not be coming back back, it would take years to build new plants, which we don't have.

They are not all made overseas. ASML purchased Cymer, a local laser manufacturer in Southern California- the lasers are needed to make images on the wafers and they are still manufactured in San Diego… for now. Trump’s 2016 and now 2025 trade war have/and may alter this (more).
