They knew a year ago he’d try to climb Everest again. At least they knew enough to throw him down the stairs in December. By June when he’s hopefully back he can deal with Mox. Hopefully without the title because someone else has it. .

This has always been a problem with AEW. There’s some plan in mind but someone gets injured or there’s some other unexpected problem and everything just goes into a holding pattern. Like when they were waiting for Stadt to recover to beat Jade.

I kind off hope they do a sudden title change at a ppv/dynamite to really anyone and let a new story begin from there. I hoped that would happen at World End with that fatal4way, but nope. I just hope it won't just be just Moxley untill Darby returns

Long term stories are about more than just letting time pass. It’s an intentional, meaningful progression over time. Anyone who says “I don’t believe in sacrificing long term stories for hotshot booking” is missing the point. There is no story because Darby isn’t THERE!

Not a single person has several years worth of angles and storylines in them and once they get to run all the good ones they refined via a lifetime of fantasy booking, they're running on fumes. Only like 2-3 bookers ever had multiple hot streaks. Tony needs to a new creative person to take over.

I'm talking myself into the idea of Hobbs beating Mox for the title. Say Kenny and/or Osprey interferes to cost Mox the belt, you can have Death Riders pivot to feuding with them and have Hobbs defend in fresh match ups. Mox can even win it back in the summer and pick the Darby story up again.

I'm not against it, but i almost feel like Kenny right now has reached that place where he doesn't need the belt. He's so over and anything he does is such an event now, that it doesn't need the belt to elevate it.

That's been probably their biggest weakness since day one. If there's a plan in place, by God they are going to stick with it and delay until it can happen.

Doesn't help that WWE is also doing that more in recent years. Seems like neither big promotion knows how to pivot.

Oh absolutely, if you can find a way to postpone and salvage something, especially if it's a major story, go for it. Sometimes it makes what's happening even better. But yeah here? We've got some hot talents that can get their moments. Darby can still come back and get revenge without needing gold.
