Trump could have pushed for an end to the war in Ukraine without becoming actively hostile to Ukraine. Instead, he has imbibed Putin’s lies. Have written about the emergence of a new US/Russia axis, where it comes from and the staggering implications for Europe.

Some journalists like @carolecadwalla.bsky.social have said Trump was always aligned with Russia; indeed, the Trump/Reform right always have been. What they hate are rules-based systems like democracy and the EU. We are their enemy - we need to face up to that far-reaching reality.

I really like LG. His writing reassures me that I’m not going mad and I think his insight is consistently underrated by lots of the commentatariat. I suspect they know he’s a lot better than they are.

I'm glad someone else is saying it. Thought I was going mad and being a bit hyperbolic. But it's not a 'negotiation' with the US and Russia. It's Trump giving Putin everything he wants. If he pressures Ukr to accept it then to all intents and purposes he's switched sides in the conflict.
