One additional point, the two tragic examples of mistakes being made that you used in this article have equally happened to qualified nurses and doctors. Are you by extension suggesting that all doctors and nurses should be replaced. Mistakes will happen, it's how you learn from them that matters.

Using the term "Fake doctors" undermines your argument. They don't claim to be doctors, they come into PA and AA training from previous degrees in science and health backgrounds but don't let truth get in the way of sensationalism. Very poor article from LBC.

Totally hyped by the BMA, the doctors union. The same body that opposed bringing in a Duty of Candour, a legal requirement to make health staff tell the truth when things go wrong. In Northern Ireland, the BMA spent a fortune lobbying to prevent doctors having to tell the truth. Just self interest.

A very poorly researched and written article. Many PAs have years of experience as nurses, paramedics, etc before starting PA courses. If they had a £ for every mistake they have to correct from Drs/GPs I and my colleagues would be rich. However, I would never call for scrapping GPs.

PAs have just 2 years training & that’s it! . Nurse practitioners have the 3 years registered nurse training then on top of that (& usually with many years post grad experience) complete a lengthy masters program.

Thank you. I thought one had to first be a nurse before moving up. My mistake. That two years isn’t enough. Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) only need two years while registered nurses (RNs) need four.
