Everyone's different, but my problem is I don't hydrate well. If I drink a bunch of water (or, you know, the normal amount for a human on any given day), then I'm good. Otherwise, I'm getting prodded.
I can't offer any advice, but I can commiserate with you. Years ago I had so many blood tests in a short period of time that the nurse claimed my veins collapsed, and she had to draw from the back of my hand. Which, honestly, I don't know why they don't do that more often.
Mine have become more mobile as I age, so I've taken to telling the vampire nurse to go straight for the butterfly. Despite it being a smaller vein I feel like there's less discomfort as a result
