I don’t hear ppl talk about the library anymore. I use to live and breath the library when I was younger. No to mention the resources and benefits the library offers !!! Man go to the library 📚

Most people bar hop, but I "library hop" in the western suburbs of Chicago. There are several local libraries that I take turns visiting, attending programs, reading magazines, or just enjoy sitting among the books! Been doing it for the last 25 years or so!
I started going to the library as soon as I learned to read. 78 now and have read 11 books in the last three weeks. I'd rather read a good book than watch TV or scroll. If I'm not on here for a few days ..I'm reading.
I got banned from the library circa the late 80s because a librarian asked 8 year old me wanted to be when I grew up and I said “I want to study dinosaur shit”!
We have an over flow warehouse here of donations and old library books for sale that I visited for the first time. I will be chasing this high for a long time, I'm still giggling at my purchases ☺️🍻
I recently started going to the library again and hit me like a truck remembering how I used to spend every afternoon there in middle school there. And sometimes they even have a "buy" shelf so you can support your local (and personal) libraries 😂

Years ago when I didn't have air conditioning on a really hot summer day I was spend the afternoon reading in the nice cool library. I miss going there
Yesterday, I went to register for a library card so I can activate my Libby app (I know I am 10 million reviews too late). However, there were homeless people sleeping in the business area. All in all, libraries are great.
I visit my local library a few times a month! They have so many great services and classes in addition to all the great books, audiobooks and movies that are available!
I always have 2 or e books checked out. I wouldn’t be able to survive without my library. I’ve also written 2 novels this year, a lot of which was written at the library.
I go to the library every week and my library is busy with people studying reading attending groups and just getting out of the cold. Libraries are important places.

And yeah it is sad. I lived my whole youth in my local library.
As well as movies, games, consoles, access to computers, printers, and workshops. Just walk in and ask how to sign up for a card 🥰
