So, for the love of pete, if you're a video game dev, please stop making puzzles a key part of game progression - or provide an alternative mode. It's an accessibility issue. /4

It isn’t a neuromotor thing for me but it’s definitely neurological. You are so right that it’s an accessibility issue and I (someone who works in that space at a university) am kind of mad at myself for not making that connection sooner!
It only recently clicked into place for me because of a big title that I've otherwise enjoyed, so don't feel too bad! That said, there are certain games and genres that center around this and I don't expect them to change. Platformers and games which require finesse? I've learned to avoid.
I get that. Sports games have gotten way to rapid-paced and complex for me to play since about 2000. While I know video games don’t have the flexibility of TRPGs because of code limitations, I’m now thinking even TRPGs might benefit from really looking at 2-3 novel ways of beating a challenge, not 1
Oh, for sure! And I'm so happy that the tables I play at know that my brain doesn't always solve things in the way they'd anticipate and are okay if I back down from puzzles... or occasionally break them. That flexibility is a gift.
