Regular sitting benches seem to have been replaced by “leaning benches” at the West 4th Street station - presumably to prevent homeless people from sleeping on them.

Interesting move by the city but the homeless will sleep on the platforms of the train station if needed.

There has to be a compassionate & humanitarian way of addressing the homeless crisis. The homeless population will increase due to this administration’s policies and the trajectory of society.

The major issue is that all the cities are built for cars now. And if it isn't built to the scale of cars. They are going to make it as uncomfortable and exhausting as possible..

i went on a fun trip to NYC with my gramma and i started crying for her because she has bad hips and knees and every escalator was out, bathrooms were closed everywhere. i was so frustrated for her and angry for her.

I lived in NYC for a bit after college and my stomach issues were AWFUL then. Can confirm. Did figure out the usually-open options on my commute but it took a lot of time and effort, basically impossible for a visitor.

Reminds me of when I had injured my knee and couldnt walk much without bad pain many years ago, if I sat in the front office before school started instead of standing out in the heat with everyone else I would get screamed at.
