I had dreams of getting my sociology degree and saving up to move to Canada or Europe one day. Now I’m not sure if I’m going to make it to 40 (I’m 32). I was already struggling before this. I know apologies will never be enough, but know I am just as devastated and upset as the rest of the world.

Hey, I also have CPTSD my Hyper vigilance is through the roof. I wish I could do more, but I'm only Canadian. Maybe there are already groups helping people get to protests? Maybe meet up group buses or car pooling, or even donations.

I’m sorry you’re struggling too. CPTSD is a special kind of hell I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I’ve been holding strong up until this point but the massive betrayal of Zelenskyy and our allies just broke me. I live in a rural area so there aren’t any groups here but might be some a couple hours away.

It’s all a part of their plan. Don’t forget to take a breather. It’s normal to feel overwhelmed by all of this. It’s not easy, but do whatever you can to resist.

You can boycott certain products, disconnect from certain Platforms. Use your talents or strengths to be creative. Anything counts.

I haven’t bought anything but groceries since the election and I’ve been calling and berating my MAGA congressmen. There’s a protest at my state’s capitol on the 4th and 7th so I will be there. I have a car so I could drive to DC but It’s a 16 hour drive so it’s not safe to go alone.

Just participating in protests at all is more than many others are doing. You should be proud just wanting to do your part. It’s tough sometimes, but don’t let them get to you. They want you to feel the anxiety, this is by design

I have the same issue. I really struggle with anxious avoidance and it takes a lot of energy for me to get out of the house, but I have to fight. I don’t want to look back and know that I didn’t do enough.

I was just diagnosed in November, so I'm working on it. The world situation unfortunately is not helping. I just keep trying to just stay informed, help however I can, even if that is just re posting things on here. I give myself grace, and remember I'm healing.

Yes, please give yourself grace. I was diagnosed a couple years ago and it’s still hard sometimes but you will learn how to manage it with time. When you’re feeling triggered, take a few breaths and name 10 things in the room. It will help reset your brain.

Do you have a trauma therapist? EDMR therapy with my trauma therapist has really helped me. I used to have panic attacks regularly but now they’re much less frequent. I really appreciate that you’re making an effort to help. It helps seeing allies supporting us resisters, even if it’s just a post.
