It came out a while ago that Twitter was inflating views on posts, and I'd bet my bottom dollar its done on likes as well. Combine that with bots and you get that dopamine hit of a like but no actual human interaction behind it.

On days when ChatGPT was down 1-2/3 of posters seemed to evaporate. I've observed the craziest chat-bots. There was a company that used them for fake product promotion and defending their honor. 🤦♀️
This revelation here? Even if I hadn't already deleted my Twitter account, this has killed Twitter. Even if Elon sells it, nobody can trust Twitter numbers anymore, ever.
