Thread: I went to Scotland over the holidays and all I got was 10lbs of records! Lots of great record stores in Scotland, as you might imagine. Here are my favorites:

347 Leith Walk, Edinburgh
An old-school shop with lots of stuff, but nothing that jumped out immediately. I was with the fam so didn't have a chance to dig deep, but maybe not worth it? The shop is also for sale, which leads me to believe that it's near the end of its days.
Waverley Mall, Edinburgh
Pictures showed bins of cheap used CDs, but they very picked over. Despite being in a "mall," they seemed to have a pretty good selection of new and used vinyl and a shit-ton of youth eagerly browsing. Didn't buy anything but would come back again.
51 Oswald St, Glasgow
Large store w/ "lots of stuff," but picked over. Dark and foreboding (might have been the Swans record they were playing?) I did find some cheap Scott Walker and T-Rex CDs as CDs are as unloved in Scotland as they are in the US (perhaps more?).
1 Grindlay St, Edinburgh
Scottish chain w/the popular new vinyl. Didn't really cover the hipster stuff that I'm usually looking for, but they did have Primal Scream's "Reverberations" at a reasonable price and I found a cheap Unknown T record in the bargain bins. Nice people!
