the thing that will finally unhinge me is how everyone suddenly decided to say biOPik which makes no sense to me surely SURELY it is BIOh pic why wouldn't it be Bio .. Pic.. i'm sure it used to be Bio-Pic why is this.. I'm just very very confused did you all have a meeting was I away

It used to be biopic. That’s because biopic is the correct pronunciation. It is a BIOgraphical PICture. Bio-pic. THEY ARE DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORD. You don’t say Tee-Levi-shun.

I don't recall it ever really being bio-pic (until fairly recently actually). It always being bi-opic in my sphere. Makes sense to me, all bio words have the same pattern

I very rarely have bio as a single unit. I'm trying to work out when and why.

I *think* is to provide a de-stress on the next syllable.m, to bounce into the stress. If that makes sense
